Public Hanging: Paintings 2010

The Blue Horse Gallery presents the 3^rd annual

PUBLIC HANGING 2010

We have had so much fun with this show and have met so many incredible Northwest artists; we are going to do it again, with a twist. Public Hanging: Paintings will be hosted in January 2010 as usual. Public Hanging: Photography will be held in June 2010.

Two dimensional artists throughout the Pacific Northwest are invited to enter ONE (single entry, no diptychs, triptychs, etc.) of their best works to be hung in the gallery for three weeks. This is an un-juried show; all entries will be accepted unless the content of the work is deemed unacceptable by the Blue Horse staff. The winner is chosen by a public vote and receives a One person show during the month of August, as well as $500. 2^nd place receives $300. 3^rd place receives $200.There will be a $35 entry fee.

The show will be on display at the Blue Horse Gallery, located at 301 W Holly St, Bellingham, WA 98225. It will open with an artist reception 6pm through 10pm, January 8, and will hang in the gallery through January 29.  

Specifics for the 2010 exhibition:

• Deadline for registration forms & fees:  Dec 28, 2009
• Delivery: Jan 2, noon – 5pm
• Show runs: Jan 8 – 29, with opening reception 6pm-10pm
• Pick up work: Jan30, 11:30am- 5:00 pm all work must be picked at this time unless other arrangements have been made with the BHG staff.
• Size: maximum of 72 United Inches (no larger than 36” in height or width)
• Artwork should be framed, or painted on all sides, ready to hang, NO saw-tooth hangers.
• The work needs to be labeled with: artist name, title, price, and size, medium on the back of the piece.
• Resume is optional, to be put in a notebook for gallery patrons to peruse.
• With a sale, the split is 60% to the artist, 40% to the gallery.
