Public Hanging: Photography 2010

The Public Hanging has been so popular that we decided to add a separate show featuring photography, we’ll call it: Public Hanging: Photography and hold it during the month of June.

 The Northwest is home to many excellent photographers, so we would like to invite anyone interested, to enter ONE (a single entry, no diptychs, tryptics, etc.) piece to be hung in the gallery. All work is un-juried and will be accepted unless the content is deemed unacceptable by the BHG staff. The winner will be chosen by a public vote. The winner will receive a one person show later in the year and $500; the 2nd prize will be $300; the 3rd prize will be $200. There is a $35 entry fee.

 The show will be on display at the Blue Horse Gallery, located at 301 W Holly St, right here in Bellingham. It will open with an artist reception (6pm – 10pm) June 4 and will run through Jun 25.

Specifics for the 2010 exhibition:

  • Deadline for registration forms & fees: May 25, 2010
  • Delivery of work: Saturday, May 29 between 11:30am – 5:00pm
  • Show runs: June 4 – June 25, 2010.
  • Pick up work: Saturday, June 26. All work MUST be picked up at this time unless other arrangements have been made with the BHG staff.
  • Size requirements: Maximum of 72 United Inches (no greater that 36” in height or width)
  • Work should be framed and ready to hang, NO saw-tooth hangers.
  • The work needs to be labeled on the back with: artist name, title, price, size, and medium
  • Artist Statement and resume (optional), to be put in a notebook for gallery patrons to peruse.
  • With a sale, the split is 60% to the artist, 40% to the gallery.
