A Breast Cancer Awareness Exhibition

CALL TO ARTISTS

 

The Blue Horse Gallery will be hosting the 12th annual “Reaching for the Light” breast cancer awareness exhibit this fall, opening with an artist reception November 13. This exhibition has been supporting Whatcom County breast cancer survivors and their families for over a decade. All artists are invited to participate in this non-juried show. Work that is connected to breast cancer is preferable, but not mandatory. A written statement describing the exhibitor’s experience with breast cancer MUST also be submitted and will be displayed with the art.

This is not an auction or a fundraiser. The focus of the show is to promote breast cancer awareness to our community and support and celebrate survivors and their families. If you wish to sell your work please make prior arrangements with the Blue Horse Gallery. Artists will receive 60% of the profits with 40% commission to the gallery. There is no required entry fee this year, although donations will be accepted and greatly appreciated.

Due to limited wall space we request each artist to submit ONE piece. Two dimensional works should be no larger than 36” in height and/or width. The work should be ready to hang using wire, no saw tooth hangers please.

DATES TO REMEMBER:

                Registration forms due:         Saturday, Oct 24 INCLUDING ARTIST STATEMENT.

                Delivery of artwork:       Saturday, Nov 7, 11:00am - 5:30pm.

                Opening reception:         Friday, Nov 13, 6 – 9pm.

                Last day of show:            Friday, Nov 27

                PICK UP:                        Saturday, Nov 28, 11am – 5:30pm.
